My Journey in Leadership Seminar with Dr. habil. Emese K. Nagy

Learning from Asia Project – 25 September 2025

On 25 September 2025, the MCC Learning Institute had the privilege of hosting Dr. habil. Emese K. Nagy, Director of the Institute of Teacher Education and General Director of the Centre for Teacher Training at the University of Miskolc, as the distinguished speaker of our My Journey in Leadership seminar series.

With more than three decades of leadership in education, Dr. Nagy brought a wealth of experience and insight to the discussion. Her leadership trajectory spans several influential roles—from serving as Dean of the Faculty of Education at Eszterházy Károly University to her longstanding and impactful involvement in disseminating the Complex Instruction Program (KIP) across Hungary. Her contributions have shaped teacher training, pedagogical innovation, and inclusive classroom practices nationwide.

During the seminar, Dr. Nagy offered a deeply personal and inspiring account of her professional journey. She highlighted the challenges, turning points, and motivations that guided her work, emphasizing the importance of human-centered leadership, professional integrity, and a strong commitment to educational quality. Her stories demonstrated how leadership grounded in empathy, vision, and practical experience can empower both educators and students.

One of the memorable moments of the session was an interactive scenario activity, during which Dr. Nagy invited participants to step into real-life leadership dilemmas. This collaborative exercise encouraged reflection, problem-solving, and dialogue, creating a dynamic learning environment that resonated strongly with attendees.

The seminar served as a powerful reminder that impactful leadership in education does not emerge overnight—it is built through years of dedication, thoughtful decision-making, and a genuine desire to support others’ growth.

We extend our warmest thanks to Dr. habil. Emese K. Nagy for her engaging, insightful presentation and for sharing her leadership journey with such openness.
We are also grateful to all participants who contributed to a meaningful and thought-provoking session.
