On February 19, 2025, the Learning from Asia project successfully organized another book launch for the publication Learning from Asia in Education, this time targeting the Chinese audience residing in Hungary. Dr. János Setényi presented on the origins of the Learning from Asia project and the significance of why the project is focusing Asian education.
 
A key figure in making this seamless communication possible was Yang Yang, who played a pivotal role as the main translator, moderator, and presenter. She delivered a thought-provoking presentation on Asia as Method, offering her reflections on the book as an author.
 
One of the highlights of the event was the interactive Q&A session, where participants engaged in stimulating discussions. Dr. Gábor Halász and Dr. János Setényi shared their experiences from their visit to China, offering valuable insights into the country’s educational landscape. Their reflections provided rich context for understanding how Asian educational models can inform global practices.
The event left a strong impression on attendees.
 
One participant reflected on the significance of the discussions, stating: “The book launch event delved into the innovative practices of Asian education, showcasing the result of the ‘Learning from Asia’ project. It highlighted the significance of Asian education as a reference for Western education systems, inspiring anticipation for the exchange and collaboration between Eastern and Western education.”
 
Similarly, another participant shared how the project reshaped her perspective:
“The concept of this project really opened my mind. I suddenly realized that as Chinese/Asians, we need to reassess and reinterpret our education using our own culture and values, discovering its strengths.”
The event concluded with a positive reception, as participants expressed an interest in the book’s content.
 
With another book launch completed, the Learning from Asia project continues its mission of fostering meaningful educational dialogues and expanding the reach of Asian perspectives in the global education discourse.
